Star Cineplex opened in 2004 as Bangladesh's first multiplex. Two decades later we run nine theatres across Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Narayanganj, and Savar.

Bashundhara City flagship opens
Star Cineplex launches as Bangladesh's first multiplex on Level 8 of Bashundhara City, with a single 230-seat hall.
- 2009
Second screen, premium projection
A second auditorium opens at Bashundhara with full digital projection, doubling daily capacity.
- 2017
SKS Tower, Mohakhali
The second Star Cineplex branch opens at SKS Tower on V.I.P. Road, expanding the circuit beyond a single shopping centre.
- 2019
Shimanto Shambhar, Dhanmondi
Third branch opens in Dhanmondi, anchoring the circuit on the city's western edge.
- 2022
Beyond Dhaka
Branches open in Chattogram, Sylhet, and Narayanganj. Star Cineplex becomes the first multiplex with a national footprint.

Recliners and Royals
Premium recliner and royal-class seating roll out across Bashundhara and SKS, alongside Sony Square Mirpur opening.
- 2026
Nine branches, one ticket
The circuit reaches its current shape: nine branches across Bangladesh, unified ticketing, and the largest cinema audience in the country.
